Christine is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Health and Societies concentrating in Health Care Markets and Finance. She is also a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and minoring in Chemistry on the pre-med track. She plans on pursuing a career where she can serve both as a physician and public advocate for minority communities to mitigate healthcare disparities. Outside of BSL, she is a contributor to the Daily Pennsylvanian and the Penn Healthcare Review. She is an active volunteer in the Dana How Scholars Program through Upward Bound and at a refugee clinic through Service Link. In the past, she has served as Marketing and Outreach Chair for BWUA’s Black Ivy League Business Conference and as a mentor through the Pipeline Program. She is also currently the Marketing Chair for Seniors for the Penn Fund.

Kristen Ukeomah is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a pre-law student majoring in Health and Societies with a concentration in Health Policy and Law, minoring in American Public Policy. Her academic interests include political science, economics, public health, and health policy, international affairs, and the ways that these all intersect. On-campus, Kristen is also very involved with the Undergraduate Assembly, Penn African Student Association, Black Pre-Law Association, and the Ase Academy. She is a Penn Anti-Violence Educator and a Weingarten Ambassador as well. She is currently an intern at City Hall and wants to go into public policy work in Washington, D.C. in the future.

Kelli is a Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Health and Societies with a concentration in Health Care Markets & Finances on the Pre-Medical Track. On-campus, Kelli is a Penn Cheerleader, a Big Sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters, and an active member of Camp Kesem. She is also a Johnson Scholar at the Perelman School of Medicine. Kelli is interested in a career in medicine focusing on reducing the social determinants of health in minority populations.

Hadja is a Sophomore in both the College and Wharton studying Biochemistry and Management. She is from the Bronx, New York. Outside of BSL, Hadja is apart of 180 Degree Consulting, ASE academy, and Penn Fashion Collective. She looks forward to spearheading the Faces of Black Penn campaign for the fall of 2019.

Shamari is a Sophomore in the College studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a minor in Africana Studies. She was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. On-campus, you can find Shamari in The Netter Center working with Young Quakers and Bridges To Wealth, which allow her to fulfill her passion for nonprofit work. Shamari is also involved with community engagement for BARS, a social justice group on campus, and she serves as the Secretary Minorities in Sports, a new pre-professional group on campus.

Kaday is from Washington DC and she is a sophomore in the College studying Health & Societies. Aside from being the Special Events Chair for BSL, she is the SNMA Liaison for MAPS (Minority Association for Pre-Health Students) and a CSSP after school mentor. She looks forward to planning events for our community this year!

Malcolm Is currently a sophomore in the Wharton School of Business with an undeclared concentration. On campus Malcolm is a Cornerback on the Varsity Football Team.

Trinity "Trin" Brown is a rising sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is considering majoring in Criminology with a minor in Sociology and Psychology. Trin is particularly interested in reforming the judicial system for the better of African Americans as well as women who are victims of forms of domestic and sexual abuse. Her end goal is to work for the FBI in the Behavioral Science Department. On-campus, Trin volunteers in the surrounding West Philly elementary schools and Philadelphia’s women correctional facilities. Apart from being the Co-programming chair for BSL, she is also the programming chair for Minorities in Sports and the set designer for 4A ( African American Arts Alliance). Looking forward to meeting with all of you.

Jenaye Johnson is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences with a pre-med concentration. She is pursuing a major in Biological Basis of Behavior with a potential minor in Medical Sociology, and as a physician/OBGYN hopes to establish an emphasis on minority women’s health and disparities within healthcare. On and outside of campus, Jenaye loves to spend time volunteering or trying new extracurriculars, works out with the Penn Boxing Club, and is an active member of the Johnson Scholars Premed Program.
External Community Engagement Chair
Tiara is a Sophomore in the Wharton School pursuing concentrations in Marketing & Operations Management and Social Impact, which underscores her ambition to intersect Business with Community Development. Aside from BSL, Tiara acts as Vice President for a new pre-professional organization on campus called Minorities in Sports and Costume Director for WAVe, West African Vibe dance group. Beyond Campus, you can find her servicing libraries in public schools throughout West Philadelphia or mentoring youth with the African Community Learning Program.
